Sofus Macskassy
Co-founder, Chief Scientist, zaimler Dr. Macskassy is the Co-founder and Chief Scientist at his new startup. He has been working in the semantic technology space for over 20 years, focusing on knowledge graphs, knowledge extraction, and predictive modeling at startups and enterprises both.
About this speaker
Prior to zaimler, Dr. Macskassy was a Director of AI and Engineering at LinkedIn, where he led the knowledge graph team. He took the team from 95% manual curation to 99% automation in the past 2.5 years before he left to focus on his startup. He has spoken at numerous conferences focusing on AI and knowledge graphs. He was the general chair for SIGKDD in 2014. He also taught AI and ML for many years as an Adjunct and Research Professor at USC.
Dr. Macskassy has a keen interest in making data useful and given the recent advancements in LLMs and related technologies, we are at an inflection point where knowledge graphs are increasingly becoming a public and even more critical aspect of our data ecosystem.
